BILL CRIDER'S POP CULTURE MAGAZINE
I truly didn't realize he was still around. Nice to know he is. Not many of the favorite cowboys of my childhood still are. "Brave, courageous and bold" right?
Long live his fame and long live his glory and long may his story be told.
Unfortunately, for me he's a great example of the cautionary warning - never meet the actors who played your favorite TV characters. Maybe I just caught him too far along the road to curmudgeonry....The experience didn't tarnish my enjoyment of his work, however. Not just as THE Wyatt Earp, but in "The Shootist" as well. And it doesn't stop me from wishing him all the best for many more b'day's to come.
