Gator Update (Old Blue Eyes Edition)

The white bite: Meet the blue-eyed alligator who stands out like a sore thumb | Mail Online: "With his piercing blue eyes and pale skin this rare alligator stands out like a sore thumb.

Weighing over 500 pounds, Bouya Blan is one of only 12 white alligators in the world.

The 22-year-old, whose name means white fog, lives along with three other giant leucistic alligators at the world famous Gatorland theme park in Florida."

Great photo at link.

San Francisco's new California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park has Claude, a resident of the former Academy of Sciences. He is a white alligator. http://www.lovetoeatandtravel.com/site/Sfbay/SF/Fun/park_ca_academy_swamp.htm

Sadly, Alvin doesn't have a white gator.

That's the silliest expression I've ever seen on a gator. Maybe he looks better in profile.

Somehow the juxtaposition of "gator" and "sore thumb" conjured up unpleasant thoughts.

Oh never smile at a crocodile...

Or in this case a grinning white alligator.
