A weird list.

Ugh, how could I forget Jim Rockford?

Others missing could include Marshall Matt Dillon, Maverick, that stupid Kung-Fu character, Uma Thurman in Kill Bill...

The definition of the the term "cool" must have changed recently. Where's Parker? Where's Modesty Blaise? Where's Uncle Scrooge? Where's Jeeves? Where's Li'l Abner's mother? Bill, sometimes I think you link to stuff like this just to provoke a response from people like myself.

WV: domerno - an Italian soccer player, I believe.

You got that right about the link, Anders!

And it works every time, I might add. Keep'em links coming, Bill.

Oh, and "cool" according to the link is apparently only applicable to movie characters. Um, yeah, right.

On the List of Cool I'd like:
Shell Scott - is there anyone reading Bill's blog who does NOT know about Shell Scott? And doesn't think he's totally cool? I think not.
Gladstone Gander - Donald Duck's exceptionally lucky cousin. Arrogant, suave, and a complete bastard - and just so annoyingly cool. And btw, his creator Carl Barks is just as much one of the great 20th century Americans as Duke Ellington and Raymond Chandler - but I assume you already knew that, Bill.

Knew it and believe it.

Ok, I just went back through the list again and still didn’t see Steve McQueen. But Nancy Drew is listed, thank goodness.

Without MIKE HAMMER, a number of those heroes wouldn't have existed. The line to James Bond is direct, and where else did Dirty Harry and Jack Bauer come from?

I hate these lists, put together by children with ADD.
