It's between AVATAR and THE HURT LOCKER for Best Movie.

Given who's voting, I would not be surprised if THE BLIND SIDE wins, and PRECIOUS does very well in the voting.

Although I don't want Avatar to win Best Picture the silly part of me would love to see it win and Cameron go up on stage and shout, "I'm the King of the World! Again!!!".

After all the controversy of its origins, I'm glad to see it wasn't nominated in the screenplay category.

I hope Meryl wins Best Actress. Would have love to see Tucci nominated for supporting for Julie and Julia because he was so fantastic in that show.

There is a chance, though probably slight given the reactive uproar from the very fans who would have been expected to like it the most: SF and fantasy fans, that AVATAR could make a big sweep, it certainly has enough nominations. I have not seen any of the others, so I can't compare and decide.

I agree about Streep, I love to see her win, but she won recently, didn't she? Often the Academy likes to spread these awards around. I'm hoping Freeman wins, but I haven't seen the film (yet) to see if he earned a win.

Would like to see Jeff Bridges win. He's been doing consistently good work for 40 years. Morgan Freeman won 5 years ago for Million Dollar Baby.
Can't understand the love for the Blindside. Watching it I felt I've seen the same movie many times before.
