I'm Sure You'll All Agree with the Choices

The Hollywood Reporter: Landmark films from John Cassavetes, Howard Hawks, Billy Wilder and George Pal join Bambi and Forrest Gump as the latest cinematic treasures to enter the National Film Registry, the Library of Congress announced Wednesday.

Nope. I didn't like Forrest Gump all that much when it came out and don't like it any better now.

Fritz Lang's _The Big Heat_ (1953, adapt. from William McGivern's work) is on the list.

Usually the Librarian of Congress gets it right. As far as "Forrest Gump" there are those who consider it one of the best things Tom Hanks has done. I am not among them, however I will also say it's not one of the worst things he's done.
