Frankenstorm

Since moving here to Alvin, Texas, we've gone through two hurricanes and any number of tropical storms.  It's no fun.  My sympathies to every one in the path of Sandy.  Batten down the hatches, stay warm and dry, and don't lose your Internet connections!

Actual recent conversation:

Co-worker: "But there can't be a storm out there now--the hurricane season ends in a few days."

Me: "The hurricane doesn't know that."

I could be wrong, but I got the feeling my comment was not appreciated. Anyway, thoughts and prayers to all who are in the path of the storm. Take care!

Our weather-guessers predict Western NY is going to get 5 inches of rain (a month's worth) in a couple days next week from Sandy. I shudder to think what folks on the East Coast are going to contend with when Hurricane Sandy comes ashore...

A few drops of rain just hit the office/exercise room window. After an almost bacchanalian kids' part two houses over last night, with perhaps thirty children making more noise than a typical hundred adults could. Truly, the end is nigh! Pity I still have to go to work after the nighing end, though we might have flexible start times.
