I don't know how accurate the Snake Plisskin movie version was, but McCoy and the other officers did a heck of a job getting up there and stopping him.

People need to know all the facts. McCoy got the call that day at 11:53 am and was at the bottom of the tower at12:00, and yet he didn't make it to the top of the tower to help shoot Whitman at 1:24pm. What did he do during that 1 hr and 24 mins? Read the book a sniper in the tower by Gary Lavergne to find out.
