I Would Never Have Guessed the First One on the List

The 10 best quotable films

I was just reading a book where one of the characters only spoke in lines from Pulp Fiction.

I'd add When Harry Met Sally..., Animal House, and Annie Hall to The Big Lebowski, Monty Python & the Holy Grail, Airplane!, Princess Bride and, of course, Casablanca.

By the way, both of my sisters quote extensively from a host of movies, many of them pbscure to me.

If the movies are obscure to you, imagine what they would seem to the rest of us.

The list is without credibility if it does not include Animal House, to wit--

"It's time for someone to put his foot down--and that foot is me!"

"Over? Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"

"Do you mind if we dance with your dates?"

"Thank you sir, may I have another."

"Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son."

The list is endless.

Judy and I love that movie.

What, no Marx Brothers? I suppose that's the best you can expect from twerps that have to describe Casablanca as a black-and-white movie.

Check out Murnau's THE LAST LAUGH (1924)

I agree there should be a Marx Bros. movie on there. "There is no sanity clause," "One more time and then I really must go," "'Thank you,' 'No, thank YOU.'" Napoleon Dynamite has a lot of good lines: "Make yourself a dang quesadilla," "I've been chatting online with babes all day," "It took me like three hours to finish the shading on your upper lip."

I think I'm going to have to watch Withnail and I again.

Maybe I should, too.
